Zachariah King
21+ | 7pm
Born and raised between the ridges of Eschol, PA, Zachariah King, has been steeped in the heritage of Perry County country music from the very beginning. Zach learned to sing and play by performing in church services at the historic Eschol Brethren In Christ Church across the street from his home. He gained recognition from an elder neighbor and country musician, Roscoe Reisinger, who fostered the young spirit and turned him onto a local watering hole, Laurel Run Lodge, to continue his honky-tonk education. It was there at Laurel Run (famously known as Chick’s) that Zach found a whole new type of Wednesday night service with the joyous clankin’ of beer bottles and the harmonious singing of bar-room anthems. Zach spent his formative years performing Wednesday nights at Chick’s, before joining and fronting various local bands before officially setting out as a solo artist in 2018.
Zach draws from a wide range of places for the inspiration to his songs; anything from past experiences, human emotion and local lore to create his own brand of singer/songwriter style country music. Recently, Zach has been archiving local music with a focus on preserving and performing it for others to enjoy. He is also experimenting and rehearsing with a full band and hopes to bring a bigger sound to his songs in the future.
Zach has shared the stage with artists such as David Allan Coe, Mac McAnally, El Dorodo, Possessed By Paul James, Rev. Peyton’s Big Damn Band as well as many talented local and regional musicians he is blessed to call friends.
