Tractor Jerry & The Mud Bucket

From the southern end of South Central PA, Tractor Jerry’s introduction to live music was bluegrass festivals and parking lot jams.

Sunset Park (in the backwoods of Chester County) was a stone’s throw from his home and was one of the premier music venues outside of Nashville, featured many of the biggest stars of country and bluegrass. Long before country went mainstream, it was a bona fide underground scene in the Pennsylvania sticks, where farmers, factory workers and displaced Southern Enders could be found whooping it up to the hillbilly music that was near and dear to the lives they walked.

T.J.’s father’s love of bluegrass and countless childhood afternoons spent at venues like Sunset laid the foundation for a lifetime love of Grass, Roots, and Americana music. In 2015, Tractor Jerry and the Mud Bucket took shape. Their discography of albums and live music aims to muddle the lines between bluegrass and alt-country. Tractor Jerry enlisted seasoned road dogs to jump in the bucket and derive their brand of swamp grass. His whiskey soaked country stories have a boot cut and ball cap feel, carving a path for a new breed of Hillbilly.
