Think Tank Musiquarium Duo

Imagine going out to enjoy a night of music, only to find that the band performs the same tired, over-played radio hits that every other band already plays.

Well, that’s not what you get with Think Tank Musiquarium.

The Musiquarium colors outside the lines and thinks outside the box when it comes to its repertoire. Mainly a duo featuring local acoustic loop guru and vocalist Aaron Daniel Gaul (aka ADG) and percussionist Ffej Herb (herbie), and occasionally adding Mike Dinse on bass, they perform a wide array of songs from genres as diverse as classic rock and jam to bluegrass, folk and old school country. You may even hear some reggae thrown in for good measure. Covering iconic artists such as Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Beatles and The Grateful Dead, TTM also tackles other more obscure acts like Phish, Talking Heads, Frank Zappa and many more. But make no mistake. Think Tank Musiquarium is not merely a cover band. Its sets weave in and out of original compositions culled from ADG’s vast catalog of material. Additionally, TTM may break into lengthy improvisational passages and segues centered around Gaul’s utilization of his loop station, which allows him to layer guitar parts and percussive effects over top of the solid foundation of Dinse’s groovy bass lines and Herb’s textured rhythms, making the Musiquarium sound at times like a six-piece band!

So, if you are looking for something a bit more ambitious as you travel down your path to musical enlightenment, then perhaps you might want to check out Think Tank Musiquarium – music for your mind!
