The Willie Marble Xperience
Lancaster’s fine purveyors of “Swampadelic Sound”, featuring the World Famous Marblelettes, The Willie Marble Xperience is playing a benefit concert at Tellus360 for the Allegro Chamber Orchestra. 100% of ticket sales will be donated to this wonderful local musical organization. The concert is coordinated along with Music For Everyone, with the goal of using great local music as a means for helping the great local organizations hard at work in our community to get some extra exposure. The folks from Allegro will be joining Willie Marble on a few songs, which will be rather exciting!
Allegro is Lancaster’s own chamber orchestra — which is to say they are a smaller ensemble than you would find with a symphony orchestra. their size allows them to fit comfortably in smaller, more intimate venues, and get closer to their audience — like a “house concert” for orchestral music! Allegro is a musical term for a lively tempo, which literally translated means “joyful.” They are all about finding joy and life in the music they play, whether it is from the 18th century, or a composer living down the street. Their audiences have enjoyed the causal, “living room” approach of director Brian Norcross and the musicians. In the words of long-time Allegro bassist Don Grabowski, “by peeling away the curtain between the audience and the stage, Brian brilliantly draws them into the mind and life of the composer,” sharing the historic context and humorous or serious real-life situations that shaped the music. As a result, both seasoned fans and newcomers alike have a place in the Allegro family.
