That’s right, we’re hosting another trip to Ireland! We had such a blast with the groups from the last three trips that we simply had to go back again. And what better way to travel to the Emerald Isle than with a small group, on a private coach, with two Irish Lancastrians?!?

If you’re interested, join us for one of our two info sessions: Tuesday,  December 8th at 7pm or Saturday, December 12th at 12:30pm.

Quick stop in Kinvara, en route to Lahinch via the Burren and Cliffs of Moher

We understand that for most people on this trip that this is their only chance to visit Ireland. Because of this, we are running this trip with the idea of giving everyone the freedom and flexibility to get what they want out of Ireland. The destinations and accommodations for each night are set, but how we get there is figured out each day.

Tour Guides

From L-R, Joe Devoy, Teresa Devoy, Mairtin Lally and Brid Lally. Take at the Lally Compound in An Spideal, Co. Galway

Your guides for the trip will be none other than Joe “Master of Disaster” Devoy and Mairtin ”The Messer” Lally. See picture below of the two strapping lads with their mothers..

Joe, a Waterford native, has been living here in the U.S. since 1987, but still needs to get home to his mother’s home cooking at least twice a year. Mairtin, a native of Galway, spent 4 years moving glasses of wine and cases of beer at Tellus360. The last three Tellus360 Ireland Trips were so awesome and inspirational that Mairtin decided to move home to work with his family coach touring company (Lally Tours).

Mairtin is based in Ireland, and will be doing all the co-ordination from there. He is more than happy to answer emails, or arrange a phone call / FaceTime / Skype to talk about the trip. He’s (nearly) always available for a chat!

Over the last few years we found that some of us either wanted to go to Ireland a few days early or stay a few days later than our schedule to visit family, friends or to see a bit more of the country that was outside of our itinerary. There was also a bunch of folks who used up air miles that they’ve been collecting. So we have decided to leave the flights up to yourselves.

We recommend flying from Philadelphia (US Airways) or JFK (Aer Lingus) to Dublin.

Alternatively, if you don’t mind a layover or two, Aer Lingus also fly from Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, and Delta fly from Dulles.

**Tip – Research your flights on or, but ALWAYS book directly with the airline where possible. It will make it easier life much easier should you need to change anything down the line.

We will rendezvous in Dublin to begin the trip, and this is also where we will also finish the trip.

Please remember that we are more than happy to help you arrange your flights. And Joe will help organize a carpooling system to get from Lancaster to your respective airports.

Guest Limit

We found that a group no larger than 26 people is the perfect size for trips like these. We will have a 35-seater coach at our disposal, so we will be very comfortable. (Especially on the mornings after a few pints with Joe when all you want to do is lay across the seats for a quick nap.)

We have lined up a set of accommodation with comfort and location in mind. Expect 4 stars when in the cities or larger towns, and quaint and family run guesthouses when we are a bit further from civilisation.

What is included

  • Accommodations for 8 nights
  • 2 Dapper Tour Guides
  • Breakfast each morning and 3 group dinners
  • Private coach and driver at our beck and call for the duration of the trip
  • All featured daily activities (from walking tours to sailing)
  • Round-trip ferry transfer from Galway to the Aran Islands

What is not included:

  • Airfare
  • Travel insurance
  • Lunches and a few dinners
  • Beer money

On the last few trips we drove over 800 miles and stopped in over 20 towns. We covered a lot of ground, we stopped frequently and everyone was thrilled that they got to see so much of the country in just 9 days. We have modified the Tellus360 trip a little bit each year and the exact itinerary will be determined

You will notice that we are not hitting all the big cities and tourist traps. Just like previous years, we will give you an authentic local Irish experience that you simply will not get with the 100’s of other standard and generic touring companies that bring groups to Ireland. Limiting the group of less than 30 guests give us this flexibility to move along as quickly or as slowly as the group wishes.

We will be staying overnight the following villages, towns and cities:

Galway City x 2 Nights

Previously we would have spend just one night here, but we just HAD to add a second one.

Known to most visitors as their favorite part of Ireland, the City of The Tribes is a must! Shops, pubs, history and plenty of mischief. Here we will do a walking tour of the City to get your bearings, then give you plenty of time to wander the streets and explore this medieval town.

Pub(s) of the Night(s) – Taaffes Bar / Tigh Fox

Aran Islands

A westward view from Inis Oirr, Aran Islands, Co. Galway

The beach on Inis Oirr, Aran Islands, Co. Galway

Instead of going to the tourist trap which is Inis Mor, we’re taking you to on a 40-minute ferry ride to Inis Oirr – the smallest of the three Aran Islands. It’s a lovely, tranquil part of Ireland which is home to some of the most hospitable people you will ever meet.

Imagine a rocky island of raw nature about 5 miles off the mainland. Take away cell phones and cops. Then put about 50 houses and 3 pubs on it. Then add cozy fireplaces, traditional Irish music and the creamiest Guinness your mind can conceive. That’s Inis Oirr.

Pub of the Night – Tigh Ruairi

West Clare

The magnificently impressive Cliffs of Moher, standing 700ft+ over the Atlantic Ocean

O’Briens Tower, which marks the highest point of the Cliffs of Moher

Wonder at the Cliffs of Moher, surf the waves of Lahinch, explore the caves and mountains of the Burren region. Wonderful limestone region steeped in history. Our favorite parts – the raw nature, the live music and “craic” in the bars!

Entry to “The Visitor Experience” at the Cliffs of Moher is included and, if time allows it, we will also tour the Ailwee Caves.

Pub of the Night – TBC

Dingle, Co. Kerry

Our trusty driver and guide, Gerry

Castles, lakes, mountains, winding roads and people you will question to be on the verge of insanity. This part of Ireland is truly breathtaking – just ask Google or YouTube! From here you can go on fishing trips, go mountain climbing, cycling, or just hang out on a high stool in one of the bars.

Here you will be treated to a leisurely tour of the the full Ring of Kerry. You simply have to experience this vast beauty to believe it.

Pub of the Night – Dick Mack’s

What’s the weather like down there, Mary?

Clonakilty, Co. Cork (2x nights)

Just west of Cork City, Clon (as it’s called) is a melting pot of musicians of all sorts. It’s also won awards for being Ireland’s “tidiest town”. Clonakilty is another fine example of where we will find hilarious locals and brilliant pints of Guinness.

Pub of the Night(s) – De Barra’s or An Sibín

Kilkenny City, Co. Kilkenny

We used go to Dublin for the last night, but year after year, we’ve found that to be the weakest stop in terms of popularity amongst the groups. We tried Kilkenny for the first time last year, and it was brilliant!

Kilkenny is a very lively medieval city that is made famous for its Castles, Abbey’s and Priories. Dating back to 1200’s, Kilkenny is also famous for being home to one of Irelands premier sporting teams, the Kilkenny Hurlers. We will teach you all about the Irish national sports of hurling and football. Expect an evening of touring Kilkenny Castle, fine dining and some bar-hopping. Not a bad way to spend the last night of the trip..

Pub of the Night – ALL OF THEM!!
