Tellus Jokes: Big Apple Comedy in the Heart of Lancaster. Comedian Rubi Nicholas delivers the best comedy to Lancaster on the third Thursday of every month.
This month’s show features the comedy of Adam Mamawala along with Josh Carter, and local comedian Brendan Krick.
Adam Mamawala is a stand-up comedian based out of New York City. A former winner of the New Jersey Comedy Festival, Adam was selected as one of Funny or Die’s “Top 30 Under 30: Comedians to Watch” and he recently appeared on MTV’s Girl Code. Adam has headlined over 200 colleges across more than 35 states and was named Campus Activities Magazine’s “Fastest Rising Star” in 2013. In the past year, Adam has taken part in the Boston Comedy Festival, Women in Comedy Festival, and Laughing Skull Comedy Festival, and was a finalist in the Laughing Devil Comedy Festival, finishing 5th out of 72 comics. He has been featured as Time Out New York’s “Joke of the Week”, has been a Freelance Contributor to Saturday Night Live’s Weekend Update, and recently headlined Carolines on Broadway, one of NYC’s preeminent comedy clubs!
Josh Carter is a young comedian who is based out of New York City. Josh started doing comedy in college while attending Texas A&M University. By 2008, a good amount of his one liners were featured and published on Collegehumor.com’s front page. He also has appeared in their original series, “Jake & Amir.” In 2010, he was the winner of the Upright Citizen Brigade Theatre’s Diversity Scholarship and has graduated from their highly prestigious core improv comedy program in 2011. He performs comedy nearly every night at venues such as Broadway Comedy Club, Stand Up NY, Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, as well as other clubs, bars and music venues around the city. His show, Manhattan Comedy Review has been featured and recommended in Time Out NY Magazine.
