Romance & Cinema w/ The Reese Project

Come spend a romantic evening with Buster Keaton and The Reese Project!

Silent Film Classic, Buster Keaton’s “Seven Chances” is sure to get you laughing.  Our star, Jimmie Shannon, has until 7 pm on his 27th birthday to get married, or he forfeits a $7 million inheritance. The catch? He doesn’t find out until that day! In his rush to marry the love of his life, Mary, she rejects his proposal. He and his friends try everything to find him a bride. Will it all work out in the end?

This film was remade in modern times, called The Bachelor, starring Chris Harrison.  This is the original 1925 black and white silent film classic.

This screening of the film will be accompanied by Tom and Laurie Reese, with acoustic flute and cello.  They are returning to Tellus360 for the third time, having screened Metropolis on the rooftop and Vintage Christmas Shorts in the main room.  Since 1992, Tom & Laurie Reese have accompanied classic silent films together.  Their favorites include Metropolis, Nosferatu, Phantom of the Opera, and more.  Their unique live music performances range from acoustic flutes and cello, to jazz quartet with piano & drums. Structured compositional ideas flow into improvisational lines, following the dynamics of the film. The film is treated as the third musician, in this case.
