AVIDduo is a flute and saxophone duo dedicated to expanding the repertoire of this diverse instrumentation through the performance of new and contemporary music by living composers. Members Jeffery Kyle Hutchins and Brittany Primavera have performed together around the world, giving recitals in Asia, Europe, and across North America. Recent engagements include the Navy Band International SaxophoneSymposium, the North American Saxophone Alliance Conference as well as international tours in Ostrava, Czech Republic and Seoul, South Korea. As advocates of new music, AVIDduo has added over a dozen pieces to the flute and saxophone repertoire through actively commissioning composers to write for their instrumentation. In addition, AVIDduo routinely presents educational and community engagement programs, including performances and masterclasses in local schools, universities, and community centers. Together, they have also served on the faculty of the 2013 Jae Young Summer Camp (Seoul, South Korea). Primavera holds the BM degree from the University of North Texas with additional studies at the Janacek Academy (Brno, CZ) and is a freelance flutist and educator in Dallas, TX. Hutchins serves as Instructor of Record at the University of Minnesota where he is completing the Doctorate of Musical Arts degree.
