Now without further ado…. on October 6th, we are pleased to welcome to our TableTop:

Mark DeRose

If James Taylor and Dave Matthews spent a night together getting juiced up on pop rock, their “musical love child” would be Mark DeRose. Blending introspective lyrics with acoustic driven rock, Mark’s music is described as “thoughtful and provocative, laden with metaphors of hope and celebration for life – the stuff that makes feel good music feel so good.” While Mark spent the first part of his career searching for musical direction in both Boston and Philadelphia, he came to discover exactly what he was looking for back home in south central PA.

Fueled by a genuine passion for performing live, Mark and his band – The Way Home – boast a history of numerous performances at a wide range of venues giving way to a growing a fan base hungry for great music and great times. They have had the pleasure of opening for national touring artists Rusted Root, Gin Blossoms, Michelle Branch, Edwin McCain, Blues Traveler and Josh Kelley. They’ve even performed as part of a NFL halftime show in front of a sell out crowd of over 70,000 (at a Tellus360’s favorite Baltimore Ravens game, nonetheless!)

Mark is one of the region’s warmest, happiest, feel-goodiest songwriters out there. We hope you’re there to experience this very special solo/acoustic set!!

Sopa Sol

Sopa Sol is a group of friends who love to play music together. While ultimately a four-piece band, the trio version consists of Frances Miller (vocals, violin, hang drum), Jason Mundok (vocals, guitar), and David Armstrong (percussion). They play a mix of original contemporary folk songs written by Frances and Jason, and instrumental fiddle tunes from a variety of cultures, including Irish, gypsy and Isreali fiddle tunes. A handful of their songs feature the hang drum, which is a rare Swiss steel hand drum. Their performances include a lot of improvisation and positive energy.

We are very excited to feature Sopa Sol’s eclectic sound at this month’s TableTop Session. We even hear Mark DeRose might make a guest appearance for a few songs… You’ll want to be here to see this!
