Headliner: SLIMFIT

slimfit

It’s difficult to tell which is SLIMFIT’s greater trick – caring so little, and yet ending up with such airtight, honest, it’s-in-the-blood alt-country songs, or caring so much, and ending up with such an effortless-sounding, whiskey-soaked, can’t-be-forced genuineness.

Ultimately, SLIMFIT sound exactly like what they are: a group of long-time friends with a shared affinity for fringe country, punk rock spirit, piss beer, camping trips and Bell Biv DeVoe T-shirts. But the music is something that extends far beyond what these five Lancaster, PA, boys should ostensibly be capable of. Flannel shirts and short hair be damned – these guys rock the living shit out of each song, whether it’s a sweet, dusty ballad or a scorching barroom stomp. The music is deceptively simple, joyously feral – it’s rock-solid songwriting at its most basic and visceral, exploited in all the right ways with cascading Telecasters and a soldiering rhythm section

Lava Cave

lava-cave-band

Bohemian Invasion. Retro-pop Gypsy Cabaret. This music is a dark acoustic adventure fashioned by two women on fiddles, large and small, and a one-man-band.

  • 9-10 pm Lava Cave (Lounge)

Mark DeRose

MarkDeRose copy

Mark DeRose blends introspective lyrics with acoustic driven rock.

  • 7-8 pm Mark DeRose (Front Room)

SwampCandy

Swampcandy is an internationally touring, primitive blues influenced Americana duo. Ruben Dobbs’ aggressive finger-picking and rhythmic style (which often adds up to sounding like more than one guitar) combined with Joey Mitchell’s bass playing, pounding kick drum and percussive bass throttling (representing the presence of a full drum kit) easily fill up the sonic space normally created by a trio or even a four-piece. Dobbs’ soulful, passionate vocals are the glue that holds it all together and makes the band tick.

  • 9-10:15 pm Swampcandy (Front Room)

Kuf Knotz

kuf-knotz

Kuf Knotz is one of todays fastest emerging alternative artists. No musical territory goes unexplored when it comes to Kuf, and it is this attitude that has led him to open for top acts – Ms Lauryn Hill, Robert Glasper, THE ROOTS, The Wailers, Common, Robert Randolph, Arrested Development, RED BARAAT, Inspectah Deck, Amos Lee, Steel Pulse, ZAC DEPUTY, Josh Ritter, Bone Thugs & Harmony, Soulive & RISING APPALCHIA to name a few.

  • 8:15-9:15 pm Kuf Kontz (Temple)

Tom Pontz Trio

tompontz

All about the jazz.

  • 7-8 pm Tom Pontz (VIP Area)
  • 9-10 pm Tom Pontz (VIP Area)

DJ Uranko

dj-uranko

Mick Uranko (DJ URANKO) graduated from the Virginia Military Institute with a degree in Civil Engineering in 2004. Due to VMI’s unique atmosphere DJ URANKO was not allowed to have a TV during his four years of college. This drove his passion for music to the next level. Besides earning a degree, DJ URANKO was constantly growing his knowledge of music.
