March 25, 2016 · 7:00pm
Inspired by an unwavering love for summers spent in the mountains, along with the tall tales from his youth, Jeremiah Tall is a one-man show based out of Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Tall’s tales range from the struggles of finding your feet on an ever-changing landscape to fictional stories of cowboys and the common man’s battle with the devil. A hand painted suitcase converted into a kick drum provides a backbone to his own throwback spin on folk rock.
Limbo Jimbo is recently created band of individuals who love to get together, have a good time and share their music with live audiences. Their influences are steeped in the Blues, Soul and Funk traditions. While a new band on the scene, they respect and seek to continue to bring the sound of classic grooves back into the limelight, while maintaining a fresh new perspective. The band consists of Tuck Ryan (Vocals, Piano, Guitar), one of the former lead men from Second Hand Suits, Matt “Hoss Sauce” Hostetter(Guitar, Vocals), Nick Adams (Drums), and Tim White (Bass) . If you enjoy dancing to smooth, soulful music with powerhouse vocals, then lace up your dancin’ shoes and come hear Limbo Jimbo.
The Clock Reads
The Clock Reads is a five-piece act from Pittsburgh, PA that draws on a diverse range of musical tastes to form their unique sound. Formed in 2013 and fully fledged by 2014, the band is comprised of recent graduates of the University of Pittsburgh. With roots in traditional rock, jam and jazz styles, the band’s repertoire has ranged from genres as diverse as classic funk & soul, to traditional jam and new age jamtronica.
The Clock crafts their sound from the music that is constantly surrounding their lives. Their arsenal of original tunes is as varied as their musical tastes. The backbone of their sound is formed by tight communication, often allowing the band to transcend the “known” and “recognizable” into uncharted territory. This energy creates an exciting environment for both the band and the audience.
The Clock Reads has quickly made a name for themselves in the local music scene, playing major venues throughout Pittsburgh, and several festivals in the surrounding areas. They have received critical acclaim for being “one of Pittsburgh’s best up and coming bands of 2016” by CBS Pittsburgh.
Patrick Coman plays the soundtrack for Saturday night sinning and Sunday morning redemption. Merging the bluesy barroom shuffle of his native Oklahoma with the poetic lyricism that pays a debt to the historically rich Cambridge folk scene, Coman has garnered fans in his adopted hometown of Boston and beyond opening for musical heavyweights ranging from Del McCoury to John Fullbright and Joan Osborne.
In addition to performing, Coman hosts the popular For the Sake of the Song concert series, which brings together top songwriters to collaborate in performing songs from their biggest influences alongside their own original work. He also produces and hosts the weekly “Local Folk” radio show on WUMB (Boston’s NPR music station) and is a board member of the New England Americana Festival.
