 “Crypto Party”

A public-facing, basic workshop in personal Tech/Internet Safety. We wanted to include in the first session some of the best methods for using technology during protests and demonstrations, among other topics. This is really about learning new things as opposed to ‘what to be afraid of.’ It’s meant to be an open forum for Q&A too, and a participatory workshop so people can learn hands-on.

CryptoParty like it’s 1984!

We’re throwing a drop-in CryptoParty at Tellus360 (second floor,) which is an open forum/workshop to encourage the public to come discuss privacy, anonymity, and security in a digital age with members of the local tech community.

Our hope is to discuss how tech issues affect us all – from business owners to journalists, and gamers to grandparents. This will be an open forum where the public can come together and learn from each other and local tech speakers in a fun, laid back environment. The event is free, and we encourage people of all knowledge levels to come join us for a casual night of conversation and learning about tech topics that are beneficial to all. Possibly followed by a dance party!

Creative folks – we could use cool ideas for a logo / branding for the event. See for examples and source artwork from the CryptoParty movement. Send us your artwork via Facebook, Twitter, or Github! Would love to get some fun suggestions.

Please RSVP so we can track how many are attending!
