Grown Up Spelling Bee to Benefit Third Point Press

Join us for Lancaster’s second grown-up SPELLING BEE

$10 fee per speller
$10 minimum donation per spectator

How to register to be a speller: send an email to with your name and a one sentence bio. We will accept registration until Thursday, Nov. 5th. 30 spellers will be randomly chosen and notified at this time!

Queen Bee herself, Emily de Vitry, will be in attendance to defend her crown!!

Please let us know if you will be representing any specific organization, group, or business!

Join friends and community members for beverages, camaraderie, and a spelling bee for grown-ups! This event is a fundraiser to support Third Point Press, Lancaster’s online short story, poetry, and art publication. Funds will go to paying contributors, upkeep of the site, and laying the groundwork for book printing in the future.

Local dignitaries, business owners, and YOU will compete in a spell-off featuring national spelling bee AND Lancaster-related words in an attempt to win the coveted trophy by It’s Modern Art, to display for all to see.

Spellers (the rest are still TBD):

Emily DeVitry, AKA DJ Readsalot, winner of the inaugural bee, former host of the Spelling Bee-r that catapulted Matt Johnson and Claire Reiner to dubitable fame on the local spelling circuit.
