Folk Fights Back for Women

Folk Fights Back is coming to Lancaster, and Maya de Vitry (of The Stray Birds) will host the first show! Folk Fights Back is a musician led organization that seeks to gather communities in the name of music and illuminate critical issues. For the May 14th(Mother’s Day) event, cities across the country and the world are partnering with local organizations that support women in a variety of capacities, from access to healthcare to workplace rights.

Folk Fights Back Lancaster will be partnering with Vantage House, a local non-profit serving a critical need in our community — a place where mothers recovering from addiction can live in a supportive residential housing program with their children. All donations collected at the event will go directly to Vantage House.

The afternoon’s line-up includes a highly anticipated reunion of Old-Time Liberation Front, music by Katie Kresge, a set by The de Vitry Sisters, and more!

From Nashville to Stockholm to Toronto to Lancaster, folk music is fighting back in a spirit of compassion and standing in solidarity with women, mothers, and each other— as citizens of Lancaster and the world! Join us!
