A psychedelic funk explosion has been erupting from York, PA since the fall of 2006. Spreading their twisted, funky improv jams and mind numbing sing-alongs through the ears of listeners and promoters, Dr. Slothclaw has blazed a path of originality to create a mesmerizing freak show on stages around the Tri-State Area.

Gaining attention at every turn, this 5 piece brings huge amounts of bass, screaming guitars, and blistering drums to an ever increasing fan base. Winning the Tri-State Indie “Jam Band of the Year” award in February 2012, and self-releasing their full length album debut “Whats That Buzzing Noise?” in May 2012, Dr. Slothclaw has been spotted all over the place bringing scores of crazed dancers to a sweaty, action packed ear-gasm.

Currently working on their double disc follow up and playing a steady stream of shows, the band brings a “funky dose” of fun and excitement to their live shows. Letting their influences show, you can hear the Frank Zappa, Tom Waits, King Crimson and Pink Floyd that mingles with a dirty funk that was clearly inspired by Parliament Funkadelic, James Brown, Betty Davis and all the legends of the 1970’s.

Previously featured at Kind Roots, Some Kind of Jam, Madsummer Meltdown, Bears Picnic, Jerry Garcia Birthday Bash, Stir Fry Music Revival, Opple Topple Music Festival, The Halloween Masquerade, Boogie in the Bungalow, The Highland Spring Jam, The Recipe Family Cookout, Libertyfest, On the Rise Music and Arts Fest, Traffic Jam, Winter Jibberjam, Millennium Music Conference, Jammin for the Animals, Midnight Crazytrain Campout, Groove in the Grove, My Rural Radio’s Fall Fest and Genesis Fest, Hemp-Fest, Zucchini Moon Music Festival, Lanestock, Sol-Fest, All Wood, and other music festivals big and small. Plus Dr. Slothclaw can be found at a slew of bars around the Tri-State Area.

With amazing talents and a knack for writing humorous, unforgettable songs, Dr. Slothclaw will be sure to perk up your ears and put some swing in your hips.
