Complitkenya Computer Lab Fundraiser

Connection Ubuntu has partnered with ComplitKenya, Nyamira County, Kenya, to set up a new computer lab for local students and residents. Only an estimated two percent of rural Kenyans have ever touched a computer. This is why a computer lab in rural Kenya is so very beneficial. The cost of this lab is $18,000 and includes items such as computers, peripherals, tables, chairs, etc. We would love to meet this goal of funds, with your help!

The “adult only” event kicks off with a VIP hour from 3-4pm. There will be a short presentation and a video/chat (if possible) with our partner in Kenya, followed with music by Janie Womack and Jody. VIP tickets each include admittance to the special event hour (3-4pm) plus the main event, one drink token, appetizers, and five raffle tickets to be used for the goods/services raffle.

Basic ticketholders join the event at 4pm. All who attend will enjoy music by Fierce, and Dillweed. Local artists will be offering their artwork for sale (each donating 25% of their sales back to the fundraiser). There will also be a ticket raffle of goods and services, and a 50/50 raffle. The event lasts until 7pm.

Tickets must be purchased via Eventbrite or the Eventbrite app. No tickets sold at the door of the event.

Cash Bar and Bar menu are available at the 2nd floor lounge adjacent to the Droichead Lounge (event area) provided by Tellus 360.

We would like to share ComplitKenya’s Mission Statement, which really helps define what a difference they plan to make in rural Kenya: “To establish world-class e-Community Centers so as to promote Community Information and Communication Technology Development (ICT), promote e-learning and enhance youth employment through ICT strategies.”

Connection Ubuntu’s mission is “to supply laptops and tablets to students and entrepreneurs in Africa. These tools allow recipients to gain technical knowledge and confidence to achieve their dreams of success and self-sufficiency.” Both Connection Ubuntu and ComplitKenya understand the need for education of technology, especially for women and girls. As you can see, Connection Ubuntu and ComplitKenya form a perfect partnership, both sharing the attitude that every person matters in this world. Together, we change lives.
