Blessing Offor, one of the contestants from Season 7 of The Voice! Opening the show will be Amy Banks.
With influences from every end of the music spectrum, it’s no wonder that Blessing Offor’s ultimate ambition is to be a well rounded artist. From playing multiple instruments, to singing, to writing his own music and lyrics, Blessing wants to do it all, and he wants to do it all well.
“I miss the kind of music that makes you snap your fingers, but still manages to leave you with something to think about. That’s the kind of music I want to make.”
Although he is a young artist, his incomparable musicianship has not gone unnoticed. He has performed as the opening act for such legends as The Temptations, Average White Band, and Tower of Power. He’s also played alongside contemporary acts such as Sony recording artist, Javier.
Blessing originally hails from Nigeria and is the youngest of six children. He was born with complete vision loss in one eye and very limited vision in his right eye. At the age of six, he joined his uncle in America with the hope of receiving medical treatment, but due to complications, Blessing ended up completely losing his vision. Blessing turned to music and is now a full-time singer-songwriter. He wants to prove that one can achieve one’s dreams despite adversity. He was also a contestant on season 7 of The Voice.
While Blessing has been away from performing over the last year and a half, he hasn’t been idle. Blessing has spent this last year crafting and perfecting new songs for his upcoming release with EMI. With the record being near completion, he is excited to get back on stage. Blessing is currently performing all over Nashville, and his national debut is undoubtedly imminent.
Amy Banks has been living the charmed life as a full-time singer for 16 years. Trials and tribulations had her land in Lancaster, PA in 2002 and she’s enjoy a full and varied career since then on the local stage, in television, commercials, print modeling and voiceovers. You may have seen her in a recent Bath Fitters commercial, since apparently everybody else in the region has. In addition to leading her own jazz combos, Amy sings with the wildly popular band CTO Park Central of Philadelphia and stands in as a vocalist for the Uptown Band of Reading. When not singing, Amy is orchestrating her next great idea, hence “The Motown Project” among others.
