Empty Bowls: Soup for a Cause
This Sunday (April 26) from 4pm-7pm is the 6th Annual Empty Bowls Event – a community gathering of support and effort to end hunger and food insecurity. Area craftspeople have created handcrafted, ceramic bowls and have partnered with local restaurants and bakeries, which provide soup, bread, and desserts. The event takes place at Lancaster Creative Factory & Kevin Lehman’s Pottery, located at 560 S. Prince Street in Lancaster.
Your $25 donation gets you into the event where you can choose your own handmade bowl and share a simple meal with friends and neighbors. You’re encouraged to keep the bowl as a reminder of all the empty bowls in the world.
This year’s event will benefit TLC, a program of Tabor Community Services, located right up the street from Tellus360. Tickets are available online, as well as in advance from the TLC front desk, 105 E. King Street, or at the door on the day of the event. We hope you’ll join us.
Tellus360 will be providing not one, but two soups for the event: a potato leek soup that is vegan and gluten free (though it comes with a bacon garnish if you’d like) and a chicken tortilla soup that is gluten free. It’s a great way to sample some of the new soups we’ll be trying out at Tellus360, and it’s all for a great cause!
