Three CD Release Shows and Your Chance to be in a Movie!
Tellus360 sure is an exciting place to be these days. The coolest thing is when we can host special events and allow you to be a part of them. Of course, we think every event we have here is special, but we have a few landmark events coming up in the next month or so, and we wanted to make sure you knew about them so you could put them on your calendar.
First off, you have a chance to…
Be in a movie!
Award-winning local filmmakers Scott Lentz and Andrew Bailey from Outlaw Studios are currently filming the movie Acoustic Hearts, the story of folk/rock artist Logan Hawk. This coming Saturday (September 20) they’ll be bringing their cast, crew, and cameras to Tellus360 to film a concert scene. This is where you come in. The filmmakers have asked us to invite you to be a part of the audience for this cinematic concert scene. The filming will take place at 7pm on Saturday, just prior to Rootenanny 2014.
So get your tickets for Rootenanny, come out a bit early, and be a part of a film! Who knows, it might just be your ticket to stardom!
CD Release Show 1: Jessica Smucker – September 25
On September 25, local singer/songwriter Jessica Smucker will be having her album launch party at Tellus360 in a free show (donations accepted). Opening the show will be other local acts St. Narcissus and Jake Lewis & the Clergy.
Smucker’s new album, Tumbling After, is her strongest CD yet, as both her performance and songwriting have matured. Produced by Chad Kinsey, Tumbling After features 11 smart, catchy and disarming songs incorporating elements of experimental rock, organic folk and dark, edgy pop. The album’s backing band consists of Paul Murr on drums, Mike Bitts (of The Innocence Mission) on bass and Chad Kinsey on guitar, with guest appearances by Heather Maloney (courtesy of Signature Sounds Recordings), Keith Wilson (of Movies with Heroes), Leo DiSanto (of Vinegar Creek Constituency), Corty Byron, Patrick Kirchner (of Slimfit) and others. Mixed by Bobby Gentilo and mastered by the legendary Mike Tarsia of South Philly.
