The life of a touring musician can be pretty energy-intensive. Bands log miles upon miles as they trek from town to town, city to city and even coast to coast, the result of which can lead to a carbon footprint the size of Rhode Island.

But as WXPN’s David Dye reported on a special Earth Day-themed World Cafe interview yesterday, rock bands like Dave Matthews Band, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Phish and Guster are finding unique ways to reduce their energy consumption while on the road.
