***Congratulations to our raffle winner, Ann Pletcher! Thanks to everyone who participated, we loved your haikus!***

In honor of Shovels & Rope and Foxhound’s stop at Tellus360 during their tour, we are giving away 2 FREE TICKETS to the show!

We were hard at work swapping travel stories here at Tellus and decided that we need to broaden our scope, so here’s the deal:

To be entered in the raffle to win two free tickets, submit your funniest, craziest, strangest, most poignant travel/tour stories IN HAIKU FORM (we couldn’t make it easy on you, right?) in the comments section below before Friday 8/24 at 5pm!

If you don’t see your haiku right away, don’t worry, it will be submitted for review and posted shortly. One entry per person only! Check back to read

the tales of adventure and we will announce the winner on the blog, facebook, and directly by email.

What’s a haiku, you ask?

A Japanese poem of seventeen syllables, in three lines of five, seven, and five.

Of course, you aren’t alone, so here are some of our examples of harrowing travel tales to give you some inspiration…

Swept away by sea                                                         Sitting on my arse…

Sinking or swimming this time                                   Talking work dreaming of pints

Woke up in the sand                                                      From a leggy blonde

Smelly Bonnaroo                                                            Walking all the streets

With all the other hippies                                              Buildings heaped upon buildings…

Showering? Hell no!                                                       City of Lego blocks

Bonfire on the beach.

A dried out pine tree burning-

Christmas in July.
